Today we had our Tuesday Playgroup's Halloween party. Reese, Riley and Ashton wore their costumes I had picked up at the Halloween Express for only $5! Thanks Tiffany!! I had originally gotten them for the halloween party we were supposed to go to on the Zoo Day with Mike and his family... worked out great and now we have more dress up clothes!
The kids were so darn cute. Tiffany had great craft ideas for the kids in 2 groups. One was "scary hands" that were plastic gloves filled with popcorn and the candy corn as the fingernails. The other was a coloring station to make scarecrows. SUPER CUTE!
They then did the trick or treatig around the building in the halls from all the parents.... twice. Some kids missed the first time around.... no worries we had extra candy!
As if we weren't busy enough in the past 2 days, Reese, Riley, Ashton, Scott and I headed to get our pumpkins from our local pumpkin path! Amazing that we've been coming here since Reese was 3 weeks old!! Remember the wet suit of poop anyone? She's come a long way baby.
Linda put together a SURPRISE 60th Birthday Party for Tom. She had been planning it for months, and had sent out invitations weeks in advance that I helped design.... Pat flew in special, as well as other family members and friends from Florida and around the country! Tom had NO CLUE! It was great!
We celebrated Pa's (Tom's) 60th birthday party as a family! Reese was so excited to have a "flower" because it was the spot with the most icing. This kid will eat ONLY icing when it comes to a piece of cake, cookie or any other sweet thing. I think she'd be as happy to just have a jug of icing.
The girls were also super cute when they sung Happy Birthday, the entire thing, to Tom.... it had me a little choked up.
YAY! We hadn't seen Auntie Pat in a year and it was like we hadn't missed a beat. Thank you to internet I guess it's like we really hadn't!
Reese still loves her Auntie Pat, and Riley..... she was just being her crazy self. As always, Pat brings the coolest coloring things! This year is these amazing twist pen crayons. The girls LOVE them, especially that they have their own coloring books that they got to choose.
Before dinner Reese, Riley AND Tom went outside to help put up leaves.... it was too darn cute, and of course I went outside to take photos.
Aren't all great plans due to have Murphy's Law hit them at the most inopportune moments?
Not that we were supposed to meet Mike and his family and Corissa and her family at 6..... we ended up being 30 minutes late, that ended up being almost an hour, but that was my fault thinking I had left most of Reese's costume AND cell phone at the house. But truth be told, this was our FIRST outing for Halloween as a family of 5 and well.... this test we failed miserably, HOWEVER, Reese, Riley and even Ashton has a great time! The kids practiced their Trick-or-Treat and we got some great photos.
It was SUCH a beautiful day today! We were supposed to go with Scott's best friend and his family to a halloween party that was an all day halloween festivities for the kids, but the dates were messed up on the places' web site, but never fear we did the next best thing! HEADED TO THE CLEVELAND ZOO!!! All the kids loved running around, looking at the animals and yelling "Daddy, Daddy come see!"
Cameron was super cute when she would hand snacks to the girls a few at a time in the wagon. Scott took off one of the wooden panels from the wagon so that the girls could sit side by side.
By the time we were ready to leave the kids were all whipped and Reese and Riley were trying to find a good way to lay down in the wagon!
Today Reese and her preschool class met at Walsh Farm for a hay ride and pumpkin picking! It was Reese's first field trip and she had a blast! It was nice to meet all te kids she talks about, and their parents. We don't get to see them interact obviously as much as the teachers, so putting faces with names was nice, and of course meeting Reese's "best friend", Ava.
Some kids missed the first time around.... no worries we had extra candy!
