What a BEAUTIFUL St. Patrick's Day indeed!!! It hit 70 degrees today!

And as it was shameful to be inside if it couldn't be helped, so I packed up the kids, lunch and loaded up the car to head up to "Daddy's Zoo" aka the Cleveland Zoo, for the day!

We had SUCH a good time, however, think it's probably one of our last visits there until at least next year or even 2011 due to all the construction and the semi use of trams and shuttle buses.... too much effort when we have a fine zoo less than 10 minutes away. I do see several trips down to Columbus and over to Pittsburgh in our near future!

Last night was definitely out of the norm.

It all started last week when Scott and I looked at our calendars and realized that he was going to be out of town during the swim sign ups for the kids.... it happens at 5:30AM and Scott is the man that usually goes in for the 15 minutes and comes home to sleep for another hour or so. Well, Scott obviously left for NYC first thing Sunday morning.... great. Now, compound this by the fact that you COULD sign up online, but the facility where we sign up has NEVER been able to figure out why my account won't let me sign in. I contacted them on Friday, was told it should work..... operative word "should".... then I went in on Sunday at 4PM to show them that NO it still does not work to have NO ONE in the facility know how to even navigate their site. WHAT THE HECK PEOPLE?! And yes, all THREE kids were with me.

Linda called me Sunday and offered the most sincere favor.... to spend the night at our house so I could get up first thing in the morning and sign them up. I was so moved, but I couldn't accept because I'd feel bad that she wouldn't get a good night's rest either! SO, the compromise was to have Reese and Riley spend the night at Tom/Linda's! Oh to have recorded those girls screams and squeals to know that after dinner and baths at our house they were going over to Ma and Pa's house in their PJ's.

I packed them up for the night and the next day for Reese to go to preschool for her St. Patty's day party and Riley to hang with Ma and have her grapes. Reese was slightly confused driving over as she thought she'd be seeing Matt! And of course Riley was confused heading to preschool thinking she wasn't coming back to get her grapes! Of course all was set right and the girls did great, even getting a 9 hours of sleep....

Now back to our issue... it took from 5:30AM (with Ashton in tow) until 11:30AM for it to all get under control. HOPEFULLY after talking to the director AND the person that works on the site it won't happen the next sign ups.

Goodness let's hope.

Scott left this morning for NYC for the week, at 5:30AM , and it was supposed to be a really beautiful day, so what better way than to take the girls out to the zoo for the day! I packed up lunches, got the kids together and headed to the zoo.

Reese and Riley both loved being able to run around like crazy women, and Ashton loved watching the animals too!

Art Show 2009

Reese's preschool had their Evening Art show show casing all the kid's projects that they have worked on through out the year, and in Reese's case, even as early as today. Reese had been talking about it for the last 2 weeks and we were told that Reese's kite would be on display.... so by the time it trickled down til today Riley was asking if we were going to the "Kite Show" tonight!

It was a wee bit packed, a few wild kids, but Reese and Riley stuck right with us and were VERY interested in everything that everyone had done.... and of course, Reese was thrilled to see that her kite was on display and as we were heading out Mrs. A told us that Reese had TWO pieces in the show! Even Reese was surprised as she JUST completed it today and she told me that her sea horse was on the drying rack during dinner (we always "tell me about preschool" during dinner).

Reese had her last swim class for this session and it was my personal favorite, Safety Day!

The kids walked around the outside of the pools with Chris to look at all the parts of the pool and what to do, etc. Then they all put on their life jackets! Reese LOVES this part, adores it, because she can bob like a fishing float and jump in and make TONS of bubbles.

And happy to report, she'll be heading into the next level of swimming! GOOD JOB REESE!

SPRING FEVER

Today was a "warmer" day, and a HUGE tease of Spring just around the corner, at around 55 degrees today. Jamie and her two sons, Aiden and Collin were coming over for a play date, but we decided to head to the zoo to get some fresh air!

It was a PERFECT day for it not too cold, not to hot and the best part..... hardly ANYONE was there!
