Reese's preschool had their Christmas performance this morning. It was incredibly cute to see all of them sing infront of the parents and complete their crafts.

Reese had been practicing bits and pieces of her songs at home.... especially a Santa song where the kids signed "S-A-N-T-A" I have got to wait to receive a disk from our camera's manufacturer and I'll try and post some video of it.

Reese also got a big laugh from everyone when she was trying to take off her sweater. Poor girl has her daddy's genes where she gets super hot. I asked if she could keep it on until Santa arrived, but at the end of her songs, I caught it on tape with her asking to take it off!

After their performance all the kids were broken up into 3 groups. I'm assuming that they are pre assigned groups already set in place as Reese knew exactly where to go. Each group then completed crafts. One table had a bell ....

IMG_2031

And 2 different tables were parts to making Reindeer food!!! I had and have never heard of this little custom until this year, but after reading the little instructions on the back of their bag we'll definitely do this every year!

Santa did come in between the crafting which was SO COOL! Santa did a little magic trick with a special coloring book where the pages started out blank, then had outlines, then were in full color. Everything was with special magic in his fingers where the kids had to say that they believed in Santa to make the next step appear.

IMG_2033
Some of the kids were asked to come up and touch Santa's hand to give him magic... Reese is on the end

IMG_2035
What the last part of the coloring book magic trick... and then he "shook" all the magic back in the end of his finger.

After the magic trick was done each child was asked to come up to sit on Santa's lap to ask him what they wanted for Christmas and then received a "tasty candycane" as Reese called them. As soon as Santa hoisted Reese up on his lap the first thing out of his mouth was.... "you're a tall one!" Everyone chuckled, but as you can see from the photo of the entire class, she's 3rd youngest but one of the tallest, and will most likely be for the rest of her life. Fine by us! Higher learning hopefully in our future!

Everyone laughed when Reese asked for her "cupcakes."

After Ashton's 4 month appointment this morning we hustled over to the Community Center for our Panther Pals Annual Christmas Party, complete with a visit from SANTA! Reese and Riley were SO EXCITED! Santa brought each child a gift (supplied by Santa's little parent helpers) and he would call each child up when their present came out of the bag.

The kids were SO good. We did have a couple of screamers, the best was Jack. Poor fella, as soon as he saw Santa walk in he was across the room under a table screaming. Tiffany went to pull him out and he screamed from that point on....of course Tiffany asked if I could take a photo for Kim, which of course I couldn't say no.

Festival of Lights

This year we did a little something different. Instead of heading down to Wheeling, West Virginia to Oglebay for Christmas lights, Scott found Alum Creek in Delaware, Ohio (near Columbus) that has a wonderful set up of lights that you can drive through and to kill 2 birds with one stone, photos with SANTA!

So at around 4PM we got dressed in our Santa photo best, piled into the van and headed out and grabbed some grub on the way!

The kids did great, even Ashton! Reese and Riley loved being able to stand up in the front passenger section of the van to look at everything. Yelling out all and any characters that they recognized. I really liked how the lights were close to the road and close together.... it was more interactive. Don't get us wrong, Oglebay is REALLY nice, but Alum Creek's Festival of Lights was just as nice!

We did have to hang out in the little boat house with about 100 other people waiting for photos with Santa, yay I was able to take the photo myself for the same price $5!, but it was well worth it. Especially since ALL the kids were looking at the camera! Riley was SO EXCITED. She tried to break the line to run up to him. Reese so all too eager to let Santa know she wanted "cupcakes"…. Not the real ones, the ones from the Rose Pedal Cottage collection. Riley asked for a "doorbell"…. Which we thought she meant to say Dora, but after retrospect, she wanted another BELL from the Polar Express!

I can't believe it's already been a year since Reese headed out on the Polar Express for the first time! This year Riley went along too! Reese and Riley were SO EXCITED. Reese had been trying to wear her PJ's for the past week and talking to Riley about going on the Polar Express, seeing Santa, getting hot chocolate, cookies, angel dust but the best and most exciting..... the bell. Reese made sure to show Riley hers on the tree all week. And would say "Mommy, I am going to get another bell, Riley will get her first." It was sweet..... though Riley calls it a "door bell."

Linda won pretty AWESOME seats on the train. As I watched them walk to the front of the train, the first car.... actually the FIRST SEAT, right beside the bathroom, in the executive seats. It was great!

And of course it was the only thing that BOTH the girls talked about for another week.

The girls woke up to a good 3 - 4 inches of snow on the ground this morning. When Scott went outside to help Sara shovel her driveway and of course our sidewalk Scott got the girls ALL wound up when he would throw snow balls at the window while they were watching him. It was QUITE hysterical as can be seen by the photos I tried to take.

Party Girl!

Aiden's 3rd birthday party was today at Pump It Up in Stow. We've never been there, but it's a REALLY awesome place where they have tons of blow up jump houses, mazes, slides and games. Reese was in HEAVEN. That kid was bouncing off the walls, literally and figuratively! She was definitely in her element, and loved it when Scott went with her through the things.

Her favorite was definitely the slide, of which she tried to make me go down about 30 times, I made it roughly 15. Reese's hair was a RIOT when she'd come down. It looked as if she stuck her finger in a socket!

IMG_1837

It was quite a fine tuned machine the place has.... you come into a special room to watch a rules video, they take you in, everyone takes off their shoes, play for an hour, then get everything together with shoes back on, and then get purelled as we walk into another room for pizza and cake. As the child open's gifts a worker writes down who gave what. As we are in the room there is another party in the play area.... when we are done with eating, opening gifts, everything is cleaned up and we exit through another door and head home. Pretty slick.

IMG_1893

Reese was only devastated when the lady threw away her plate of pizza, but Scott was the BEST DADDY EVER and grabbed up one more piece of pizza before it all got tossed. All was saved, and right as rain in Reese's world.... and the best part, there was already about 2 inches of snow on the ground by the time we left. I joked it felt like we were in a casino, no windows, no clocks and I'm sure they pumped in extra oxygen to keep the kids playing!

Linda took Reese to her FIRST ballet tonight.... The Nutcracker! They went with Sue and her granddaughter Lexi. Linda said that Reese had a good time, which she did and got a chuckle and told me "Reese is definitely her Father's daughter" when after the first Act Reese asked "is it over yet?" It reminded Linda of the time she took Scott to see the REAL Peter Pan on Broadway and just as Sandy Duncan flew over the crowd Scott stood up and asked "can we go home now?"

Reese did talk about it for the next few days and would try to stand on her tip toes to dance around "like the women did."

Reese and Riley helped decorate the tree tonight. Reese and Riley were SO excited I had to really watch which ornaments that they could hang and which ones that were super breakable. Think that once I put them away this year I'll put things in 2 seperate bins ones for kids, and ones for adults.

One of the favorites was a new ornament that Ma gave her this year.... and the best part, she knows how to read it! Though Adidas was her first word she could recongize from about 2 years on.... thanks Scott!
