Reese had a great weekend!

(10 months 3 days)

Saturday Reese and I partied hardy with Cayden at his first birthday party! I have NO fear of Reese not wanting to dive RIGHT into her smash cake…. she had plenty of practice!

The photos pretty much speak for themselves!

Progression of cake eating photos... I have more, but you get the point

First time eating cake!

What is this?

Oh yeah, gimme the good stuff!

Oh, this stuff is more fun to play with.... wonder how it tastes?

Big piece!

Oh yeah, tastey good!

GIMME MORE!

She kept putting the plate up to her face over and over again to lick it! LOL

Look how happy she is?! I was laughing with her and snapped this by accident, but too cute not to show, even if off center!

May I have more?

Other photos:

Reese, where ya going?

Enjoying some sour cream and onion chips. Reese LOVED them. Hey, it was her first 1st Birthday Party for Cayden, time to get jacked up with sugar and junk food!

Michelle cutting up hotdogs for Reese. Cayden was just wondering why his mom was spending time with another baby! LOL

Bread! YAY! Reese loved pulling it apart.

Reese wanting the red balloon attached to Cayden's wrist.

Hey Caleb, wait up! Caleb was SO cute, he said "She's a cute baby!" and I said "Is she your future girlfriend?" without skipping a beat he said "Yes." LMAO!

Cayden, may I have the balloon string please?

And the great time didn’t stop there! My mom, Reese’s grandma, flew in from Virginia! WOO HOO! Scott picked her up from the airport and we went to dinner and Reese was spoiled rotten!

Today we were all really lazy, including Reese. Rebecca drove up from her stay in Dayton and took us out to lunch. Reese was as good as gold but so tired she could barely keep her eyes open.

I’m sure we’ll have more stories to share as the week goes on!

Lazy day yesterday

(10 months 1 day)

I just didn't have much energy yesterday, and ironically, neither did Reese... wonder if it was because of the cold front and hellacheous thunder storms that moved in this morning? We just played with her toys, sang songs and watched Maisy on DVD that I rented from our local library.

While I was lying on the couch Oreo came over to get a much deserved tummy rub. Reese was off running amuck when she noticed that Oreo was on her back, tongue hanging out of her mouth lying next to me. Reese hurriedly scrambled over to the couch doing her tommy gun laugh pulled herself up and got this total look of "I wonder what/if..." look on her face. Furrowed brow and everything. She slowly took her finger and pointed to Oreo's mouth, leaned over and tried to touch Oreo's tongue. It was such a slow calculated move that when Oreo licked her finger before Reese could even touch Oreo's lips Reese got this look of "Oh my god, that was slimy and does NOT feel like Mom's mouth at all!"

For about 2 weeks now Reese has been fascinated with my mouth. Especially my tongue... my teeth and lips are just a bonus. She gets very frustrated if I clamp my lips shut and won't let her mess with me when she wants to... lil' stinker.

But back to the scene that was unfolding before me..... the next 5 minutes Reese kept slowly wanting to touch Oreo's mouth, teeth, tongue and chin hair and you could just see the synapses firing. It reminded me of a scientific experiment. Oreo was SOOOOOOOO good, calm and let Reese touch her tongue, but more often than not, Reese would jerk her finger back and laugh when Oreo would lick her first. A couple of times Reese leaned in to give Oreo a kiss.... I applauded both of them on their wonderful interaction... I was so proud of both of them.

HAPPY 10 MONTH BIRTHDAY REESE!

You gotta be kiddin’ me…. Reese is 10 MONTHS?! Double digit months seemed so far away when she was just born…. Heck sleeping through the NIGHT seemed so far away when she was just born…. But I can’t get over the nostalgia of always being known as “Mom.” Just hits closer to home when she leaps out of Scott’s arms and grabs onto me like the baby monkey she is. Man how I love that girl.

The happiest baby on EARTH!

SOOOOOOOOOOOO anyway…. Scott and I celebrated our anniversary by simply being together as a family and eating at our favorite Chinese restaurant, which we hadn’t been to in eons. I gave Scott a really funny card and keeping with my “traditional wedding anniversary gifts for the 2nd year of marriage (cotton),” I purchased him his favorite 100% cotton skibbies…. Scott gave me a really cool photo frame with two of my favorite photos placed in them for me to take with me to work… his card was hysterical and in his note he said “I know that 2nd year is supposed to be cotton, and I’m SURE that there is cotton somewhere in this card.” Thank you to everyone for the wonderful emails and cards sent in the mail remembering our special day.

For flash back sake:

1st year anniversary – 31 weeks pregnant

2nd year anniversary – 9 months 4 weeks 1 day postpartum

Now, onto Reese antics….. CAUGHT ON DIGITAL CAMERA…. REESE WALKING. Just so you guys don’t think we’re joshing ya when we tell you that she really does walk/run between the sofa and ottoman enjoy!

Walking with howls of laughter! - Reese had done this about 10 minutes before hand... so we had her good and wound up! At the end she was trying to walk/fall on Oreo who was bouncing off the walls with her!

I also have uploaded a video of Reese’s FAVORITE thing to do outside with Grandma Kloetzer, go swinging I the hammock! You can hear Reese squealing with laughter and Scott and Uncle Matt bouncing a basketball in the back.

Swinging in the hammock! - Grandma Kloetzer and Reese on a beautiful Sunday afternoon.

Not much else going on in the way of Reeseisms… She’s saying “Dah dah” and “Mah mah” pretty regularly now. We’re working on “baby” and other animal names…. But she’s more interested in the SOUND the animals make than what they are called.  I’m just amazed at how she is developmentally it just seems unreal to tell everyone “Yes, I have a walking infant” and then I gasp for air thinking of how much $$$ we are going to have to spend on math tutors!

Forget walking....

I CAUGHT REESE WALKING....well.... RUNNING.....ON VIDEO CAMERA TONIGHT!! WOO HOO!!

Scott called me in from the other room to "SUE COME SEE QUICK!"

She was literally RUNNING between the couch and the ottoman. Now to get hubby to figure out how to rip the video over to my computer. We figured out the key though... get her REALLY riled up, screaming, kicking, laughing, the whole 9 and she'll do pretty much anything with Oreo's soccer ball in her mouth!

Happy 2nd Anniversary to us!
