Linda and Reese, along with Leia and Alexis (and their respective grandma's Gladys & Sue) went on the POLAR EXPRESS train ride tonight!!! From what we heard from Linda and Reese it was a fun filled 2 hour train ride, that ended with Reese saying "I'm tired..." LOL She's not used to be up past 8PM! Much less 9! LOL

Thank you Linda for winning the tickets and taking Reese! She had a blast!

So this cold that she's had for the past month has reared it's ugly head YET AGAIN.

I took her to Dr. K's this morning, after already scheduling her flu shot, to only cancel it and make it a full doctor's visit because of her stuffy nose and complaints, MAJOR COMPLAINTS, that her throat hurt. Broke my heart.

What was funny when we walked into the office is that the same ER doctor that saw Riley last month was doing rounds this month at Dr. K's! He walked in and I said "Oh my gosh, I konw you! Weren't you at Children's last month?" He laughed and said yes! Anyway, Reese was really good, got not one, but two throat swabs, NEGATIVE for Strep. THANK GOD.

Her ears are good but her throat is red due to the drainage... and she's getting the gunky eyes. I told Dr. K, and he agreed, that Reese had been on 2 rounds of antibotics for 3 weeks straight, with a week and a half off, and he gave me one of the strongest antibotics for Reese they can give to kids for sinus infections because I want it GONE.

Reese took a 3 1/2 hour nap this afternoon, so hopefully she's feeling a bit better. She'll be done with the antibotics just in time for Christmas.

Here are some photos I took of the outside of the house and our tree this year. I actually put up the lights on the outside of the house over Thanksgiving, and the tree was "up".... just not "trimmed"..... After this weekend our Christmas village will be complete so I'll post a photo of that when we're done as well. Enjoy!

MAKE HIM WALK THE PLANK! .................................. of course!

Reese took her FIRST ever long road trip without us, but with Ma & Pa down to Columbus for our cousin's son first birthday party. It was a themed pirate party.... and I must say that Reese was the cutest pirate of them ALL! She even won the best costume contest.

The most awesome thing is that by November 1st I had both girls' costumes for the next year! I had to saftey pin a few places on Reese's costume, but by this time next year it'll fit awesome!

From what Linda and Tom recounted to me Reese had a swell time playing with the trucks and dump trucks. Reese also of course, loved hanging with "Baby Jack." Seemed like Reese made the best impression as she left giving EVERYONE a hug and kiss, even the strangers. That's my girl!

I'm so thrilled to announce that we were FINALLY able to get RID of our Lemon of a Dodge Caravan! And not a moment too soon as it started to have the parking break engage at intermitant times in the past week, on top of the other 15 things that have been going wrong with it for the past 18 months..... don't believe us, just call Chrysler and ask for our case number.

As of noon today we are the proud new owners of a Silver 2006 Kia Sedona, complete with bike rack! I LOVE IT! And so do the girls!

The most awesome deal of the entire day is that we get LIFETIME FREE MAINTENANCE for as long as we own the vehicle. We're only responsible for tires and brakes when needed! On top of the 100,000 mile warrenty!

Needless to say, this is the best I've felt about a vehicle since my Honda Civic!

Santa was GREAT!

We've been talking about seeing Santa since before Thanksgiving.... Reese will tell us over and over how she is going to go see Santa, and ask for "little pink babies and a stroller for them to go in." The other day after going to the doctor for her ear infections she had a ton of stickers and said "Mommy, I'm going to ask Santa for a purse!" "Why do you need a purse?" "To hold all my stickers! Santa will bring me one!"

SO, today was the DAY to go see Santa "after preschool." While driving to preschool Reese said "Mommy, gonna see Santa Closet in his bathing suit after preschool!" Needless to say, I laughed so hard I was CRYING! I told her yesterday that Santa will be in a soft red suit with a white mustache, so I guess I didn't explain that it was NOT a bathing suit! THEN we had to work on it wasn't "Closet" but "Claus" she finally got it after a few times of practice! I love conversations like that!!!!

Scott took today off because he worked last Monday..... figured it was a PRIME time to head up to the mall to beat the crowds and see SANTA!!!!! It was awesome, NO ONE was there!!! Riley and Reese both jumped out of their strollers and bee lined to Santa.... Riley stopped 3 feet from him, but held out her arms to give him a hug... and Reese kept exclaiming "HI SANTA! HI SANTA!" But wouldn't go up to him just yet... then I finally gave her a nudge and she went and gave him a hug.... she stepped back and said "Santa, I want little babies and a stroller." Then sat on his lap! It was so darn cute!! Riley was screaming "Snnnta! Snnnta!" And sat on his lap as well, with NO tears. Scott and I formulated a plan this year not to have screaming kids by having me sit off to the side while he was behind the camera, it worked great!

I'll post a photo closer to Christmas!

Game on!

Reese had soccer practice today! Her favorite part was that Matt joined Scott during the hour practice. Reese talked about how Matt chased her around and kicked the ball ALL day!!!!

Thanks Matt for joining them! She’s already asking if you are coming to the next one!

Unfortunately, this day wasn’t all fun and games…. At 3:30PM Reese woke up from her nap writhing in pain… now complaining that her OTHER ear hurt!!! What in the world?! She’s been on almost 5 days of antibiotics, why is this happening?! I calmed her down enough to ask where it hurt, she’s pointing to both ears and sounding really stuffy. Since it was so late in the afternoon on a Saturday I took Reese to the ER.

So I took her over to children’s to find out that the antibiotics I had been prescribed last week for Reese didn’t put a dent in the bacterial infection and now it had blown up in both ears and more in her sinuses, therefore a more powerful antibiotic that takes care of more of a gamete will hopefully do the trick…. So now we joke that she’s a walking medicine cabinet!... complete with cotton balls!

1. Antibiotic… WHICH THANK YOU TO THE GIANT EAGLE PHARMACIST on Howe Ave…. I got there at 6:55 and she filled it for me! They closed at 7!
2. Oceans for Kids nasal clean out
3. Afrin applied with a Q-Tip in each nostril held for 5 seconds because GE didn’t have the kids version and that’s what the ER doctor told me to do in that case
4. Ibuprofen / Tylenol alternate
5. Numbing drops in now both ears….
6. Plug ears with cotton

LOL

This is the most that Reese has ever had to go through at once… hopefully her antibiotic kicks in soon! She wasn’t screaming about her ears at the ER… the ER doctor said that Reese has a “very high pain tolerance…” Which of course made me feel worse as I had been giving her the 5 day antibiotic thinking it was helping her… not doing nothing and her ears getting worse…. Oh well, we are on the right track now!
