Scott and I also had picked out the bedding/nursery theme we wanted a while back from Babies R Us (currently on the registry), but I thought I'd also show you how cute it is!

And I just realized something... I never re-posted the little "Surprise We're Pregnant" shadow box I made for my mom and Scott's parents. If you haven't seen it click here.

Date, Time and PLACE Set!

WOO HOO!!! One less stress to mark off the list of "Things to Do." Linda spoke with one of her School Board friends asking about possible facilities to have the baby shower and was told to look into Forty-One: Eleven Cafe.

I rushed home for lunch yesterday and we both headed over there to check out the upper room as a possibility and were so pleased that Linda went ahead and booked it! WOOO HOOO! Thank you!!

For more information click the Baby Shower Info link on the left nav.

Scott and I had a date night last night with a couple friends of ours and saw The Day After Tomorrow. It was a lot of fun and Baby K ended up kicking through out the entire movie. At one point she turned a certain way that I had to get up to walk around a little bit to get her to move back or just change positions!

I was ordered by my boss at work to "Relax this weekend." And I intend to.... after AquaSculpt and getting my hairs chopped I'm coming home to crash... until we take Miss Oreo to training class to see her boyfriend, Chico (5 pound Chiwawa).

I hope that everyone has a wonderful Memorial Day weekend.

Wanna take a guess? 3rd, 6th or the 11th?

First and foremost, HAPPY BIRTHDAY MERIDIAN! Meridian Paige Stiller was born to Dawn and David on Wednesday, May 26 at 5:22AM. She weighed 8 pounds, 8 ounces and is 19.25 inches long!! BIG baby for Dawn!

Thank you to everyone with the lovely emails and kind words of congratulations on our little girl!!! Scott and I are still wheeling from all the excitement. My mom is so great, she keeps visiting the website and sends me little emails about how beautiful our lil’ girl is! Warms my heart… and makes it that much more real! One of the first things my mom said was “I can go start buying pink!” I had to remind her that pink is nice, but girl clothes also come in different colors. ;) Then she said “That’s right, you have an aversion to pink!” haha That’s the mom I know and love!

Onto today’s baby details:

Welps I went to my month appointment. Thinking that this appointment was to test my glucose level, but nope, I guess either I heard wrong or she misread how far a long I actually was. No matter though, I come once a month until I’m further along and then I go in every two weeks! I go in for my glucose test at 28 weeks. Dr. Davenport got in her u/s machine a couple of weeks ago, and said that she’d give me another glimpse of our baby!!

Here’s the rundown of my appointment!

- Up 5 pounds! WOO HOO! 12 pounds total gained since finding out we were pregnant!! “Right on target, whatever you are doing keep it up!”
- Water aerobics (aka AquaSculpt classes) is “Great for you and baby!”
- Measuring from pelvic bone to top of uterus right around 12 inches “baby is growing nicely”
- Baby’s heartbeat is 146 – 150, “Perfect little girl heart rate”

Now for the interesting part:

- Ultrasound data said I’m due October 3rd
- Radiologist says October 6th
- Original due date was October 11th

So what’s that mean? Your guess is as good as ours!

Linda called today to see about the venue for the baby shower. I forgot how popular August weddings are. teehehe The Winery is booked on the 7th, but Linda’s working on other places to have it.

That’s about it for this baby update. I hope that you all have a wonderful and safe Memorial Day weekend! We are going to head over to a friend’s house we haven’t seen in 2 years and a daughter later!

Type atcha taters laters!

Thank you!!!

Thank you all for your congrats on our "Monkette" I went to my first AquaSculpt class Monday night! It was so much fun and I got a good workout, but didn't realize just how good of one until this morning! haha I am going to attend classes 3 times a week. That should be enough to keep me in shape for the rest of my pregnancy.

I was so excited about telling you all about our lil' u/s experience that I failed to letcha in the other stuff! Baby is right at 15 oz and her heartbeat was 145bpm! I asked Scott if he remembered how long she was, but he said he couldn't remember... he just remembered "the 15 ounces because I was still in awe." teehehe I would have asked, but I personally would have asked, but I was inquiring about the 95% growth percentile. Which isn't correct because the data was going from my original due date. Baby K is right on track with her measurements as being an average size baby at 21 weeks now 3 days. :)

I think that's it for all the excitement for a couple of days. I go back to my mid-wife Thursday to have a sugar test done. I can't remember the "official" name of the test. I have to drink a cup of orange sugary stuff... walk around for about an hour come back and have some blood drawn. I'll letcha know how that goes!

Let the baby shoppin' begin!

Read all of this, don't cheat to the end!!!! *pointing finger*

Thank you for your patience, I know I have been an evil wench in holding out on what our lil' Wild Monkey is. First and foremost.... We are measuring ahead at exactly 21 weeks and 1 day. I'm a little over half-baked now! Seems as though we conceived a week before I thought we did. The new due date is:

October 3rd, 2004
(Dawn let me in on a little factoid. October 5th is the most popular birth date in the United States. Scott told her "It's because of those long winter months!" hahaha)

Lemme give you the run down of the day... I woke up at 6:30 this morning went to the bathroom, ate breakfast and started downing water. After the first 12 ounces my intestines were doing something awfully funny. GREAT. :( Something I ate last night didn't agree at ALL with my stomach. Between the trips to the bathroom urinating for a couple of seconds then downing more water.  I WAS NOT thinking, "You are only drinking water, it will pass through your system fairly quickly." The only thing that kept going through my mind was the tech telling me "Your bladder isn't full enough, we can only do part of the tests."

I continued to freak out because I was so afraid that my bladder wasn't going to be anywhere near full enough by the time that my appointment rolled around at 9:30. Let me just tell you that it was pure hell waiting.... I wasn't told to come in early for admittance, but no worries, we only had to wait 15 minutes... but I had to go to the bathroom, urinate ever so slightly, stop midway, get up and try and walk back to my chair. I did this about 5 times. FINALLY the technician came to get me and I said, "Thank god, I think I'm going to be sick." She said "Well, we have a long time to go." WHAT?! I asked, is there anyway at all I can go to the bathroom to a certain point without being "too low"? She said, "let me check." So she did some quick looks at my cervix and such, because laying on my back while having to go to the bathroom so badly about KILLED ME. I don't think I would have been in so much pain if I hadn't done the stop and go urinating for the past hour. She said, "you can go to the bathroom for 10 seconds and stop." THANK YOU THERE IS A GOD. The technician was so nice, she said she 100% understood and laughed when I called her an angel for letting me go urinate at least for 10 seconds.

I was fine for about 20 more minutes, so she was able to do all the measurements. I was able to see all 4 chambers of the heart CRYSTAL CLEAR. The tech kept going back to the baby's heart cuz she was so amazed at how wonderful the image was. And she showed me it's feet, femurs, head, spine, diaphragm and three veined umbilical cord. I asked if the baby was cooperating enough for her to see the sex. She said "somewhat, I haven't been able to see anything yet" Lil monkey was laying on it's back facing my belly button! Crazy kiddo. No wonder I hurt so much when I laid on MY back at night... it was its head jabbing into me!!!!

FINALLY she went to get Scotty!!! He came in for "the fun stuff"

Scott sat down and we started to see things. He was in AWE. The tech kept looking around, showing Scott the parts that we had been looking at before. Scott as amazed at how crystal clear the images were on the screen! And then the tech started snapping photos:

You are looking from the top of the skull down. Cranium, 2 eye sockets, little nose and chin. Notice the caption that our tech put on the bottom of the photo... "Hi mom and dad"

PERFECT SUCKING PROFILE. :) You could see lil' monkey's lips moving in the sucking motion. I joked to Scott that it looks like the baby has his lips and my chin! From the left to right: Top of head, eye socket, nose, lips, chin, little hand that looks like a bubble in the back, sternum and the dark spot is the baby's heart.

My favorite shots of all..... one of the baby's feet.

LOOK AT THOSE TOES.... And those LONG feet. Scott wears a size 14 and I wear a 10.... Baby K is gonna have to grow into those boats!

So ya really sure you wanna know what our lil' monkey is? I mean.... It could be interesting to keep it going on what it is for awhile. teehehe

The tech did have to do some searching and some patients waiting for Baby K to cooperate in letting us see the goods. And by the time we did see em the baby had already had enough pokin' and prodding, Baby K was ever so active! But we were able to see them, and snap a shot before the baby flipped back over, without further ado....

What are you are seeing is the baby from the bottom straightforward. As if you were looking straight into a tube... poor thing, we were violating Baby K. teehehe Let me try and explain what you are seeing. The heart shape on the right..... at the bottom of the heart shape is the end of the tailbone... the middle is were the anus is... and at the middle top of the heart are two little flaps of skin otherwise known as..... a precious little girl. The tech said, "I would say without a doubt this is a girl because if it was a boy, he's hiding his parts pretty darn well." haha Scott was THRILLED of course and the radiologist agreed that the baby was a girl and even told the tech to tell us that "your baby is very photogenic" HAHAHAHAHA

We already have her first and middle name picked out. However, it will be Scott's and my little secret until our lil' monkey is born.

21 week belly picture added and our gift registry updated!

Make sure to check back often for more updates!!!

Wow, what a weekend…

Hurm, this really isn't a 100% baby related posting, however, the basement flooded. I almost overdid it... don't worry I did stop when I felt like I was doing too much.

You can read more about our little adventure by visiting: http://family.eyeblinkfx.com

I hope everyone had a less eventful/stressful weekend! :}

Site Updates
Saturday, May 22, 2004

As posted yesterday, I changed the way to view all previous journal entires.

I also updated the "Wish List" page. I figured that it should be a little more specific, especially regarding how to spell our last name! hahaha I was able to get a link directly to our BabiesRUs registry and added the link to the 1 item we would like from Target. After Monday we will update our BRU registry so that there aren't both girl and boy items! hehe

Hope that everyone had/is having a great weekend!

Yay! The weekend!

I changed the way you can view past journal entries. At the end of every page there are links to additional pages just incase you've missed something or haven't been here in awhile :)

My boss is the best! When he's not here, he knows that I have down time. He is of the opinion that I shouldn't be here just to be here. If I'm done with my work and he's out of town, he lets me come in late, leave early and on Friday's take half days! WOO HOO!!!

Yesterday, after I left work I went by the Community Center to see if they offered any water aerobics classes. THEY DO! YAY! I start Aqualscuplt classes Monday, Wednesday and Saturday mornings next week! YAHOO! I also did ask if there were mostly older ladies there, which the nice receptionist pointed to the classes that had a "younger crowd." Nothing against older ladies classes, it's just that sometimes the exercises and movements aren't as intense as someone who's younger. Not that I wanna go bust a gut during class, but I would like to have a lot more repetitions and more advanced moves.

The Old Navy outfits came in the mail!!! I opened them and got a little misty eyed. Ever since I started feeling the little kicks and getting more and more baby stuff it's really starting to sink in. I find myself grabbing Scott's hand whenever our little monkey really gets active when I'm lying on my back. I sometimes make him stay up later than he wants at night to wait for the BabyPlus to turn off so he can feel how active he/she is!

I've also started doing what my baby update told me, "Start reading to your baby during your down time. Their ears are developing and she/he is starting to learn your voice." I requested that Scott read to the baby a little later on so that they would start to recognize his voice as well. Last night's book was "My Very Best Friend." It was a very cute book. I found myself pausing between pages to look at the artwork.... Oh, to eventually have a little one squeal with delight when they see something and try to say what's going on in the pages in fractured little words that sometimes only they know what they are saying.

Scott and I are going to see Shrek 2 tonight... I can't wait! I loved the first one, the second is sure to be a hit!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
